Eragon is a third person video game
released for the PC, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and Microsoft Windows,
developed by Stormfront Studios. Also released are unique versions of
Eragon for the Game Boy Advance, Nintendo DS, PSP, and mobile phone
handheld gaming systems, primarily developed by Amaze Entertainment.
The
game is based upon the Eragon film, which is in turn loosely based on
the book Eragon, by Christopher Paolini. The games were released on
November 14, 2006 in the United States of America, on November 24, 2006
in European and on November 23, 2006 in Australia in order to coincide
with the release of the film. In the game the player takes on the role
of the main protagonist from the book and film, Eragon, and occasionally
controls his dragon Saphira.
Eragon is a young farm boy in the
fantasy world of Alagaesia. One day while out hunting, the boy stumbles
upon a glowing blue orb that he thinks is a stone. Come to find out,
it's actually a dragon egg. Eventually, a dragon hatches from the egg
and Eragon discovers that he shares a magical bond with the creature.
Turns out Eragon has been chosen as a legendary dragon rider, which is a
warrior with special magic abilities that flies around on dragons and
fights the impending evil that's sweeping across the land at the behest
of a ruthless tyrant. It's up to Eragon to save the day by hacking
through an army of clones in several linear, uninspired, and mercifully
short levels.
Eragon is supposedly a dragon rider, but there are only
a handful of stages where the dragon even makes any sort of difference.
Most of the gameplay takes place on foot with the dragon nowhere to be
seen. At set times, you'll see a little dragon icon floating in the
background informing you that you can call in your dragon friend. Tap a
couple of buttons and you'll get to watch him swoop in and then leave.

Resident Evil 3: Nemesis, released in Japan as Biohazard 3: Last Escape
Baiohazādo Surī Rasuto Esukēpu?) is a survival horror video game and the
sequel to Resident Evil 2, developed and published by Capcom. The game
was released for the PlayStation, and was subsequently ported to the
Dreamcast, Microsoft Windows and Nintendo GameCube.
The game begins
on September 28, 1998, with a cutscene and brief gameplay set in the
previous two nights. The player takes control of former Special Tactics
And Rescue Service (STARS) member Jill Valentine in her attempt to
escape a ruined and zombie-infested Raccoon City. On her way to the
Raccoon City Police Department, she runs into fellow team member Brad
Vickers, who is killed by the Nemesis, a bio-organic weapon, for being
part of the STARS; as the STARS members are aware of Umbrella's
unethical research, the company wants to eliminate them as witnesses,
stopping the survivors from continuing their investigation of the
company. Later, she encounters three surviving members of the Umbrella
Biohazard Countermeasure Service (UBCS): Carlos Oliviera, Mikhail Victor
and Nicholai Ginovaef. Nicholai is soon presumed dead after an
encounter with zombies. Mikhail sacrifices himself to save Jill and
Carlos from the Nemesis. The cable car that the three were in bursts
into flame and Jill and Carlos are separated.
A new feature to
gameplay is the Nemesis, an experimental type of Tyrant programmed by
Umbrella to hunt down and kill the remaining STARS members. He can run,
use a rocket launcher as a weapon, dodge incoming fire, and is capable
of pursuing the player from one area to the next. Nemesis is encountered
multiple times throughout the game as a recurring boss. A variety of
encounters are possible, with some being mandatory, and some varying in
nature and location based on choices made by the player. Even if
defeated in combat, Nemesis will inevitably continue pursuit of Jill.
In
a departure from series' conventions, the player cannot choose between
two playable characters from the beginning. Instead, Jill is the sole
selectable character, with another character named Carlos also being
controllable for a brief portion of the main game.
Resident Evil 3
incorporates a dodge move that allows the player to quickly avoid enemy
attacks. Stair climbing is also streamlined: whereas in previous
Resident Evil titles characters were required to press the action button
to ascend or descend a staircase, Resident Evil 3 allows the player to
use a staircase by walking directly onto it. The "quick 180 degree turn"
was introduced in this game, and has become a mainstay of the series

Metal Slug 5 Free Download
Metal Slug 5 series as a last bastion for
what has roughly become the video game equivalent of Latin. But in
recent years, the tricky part has gone from having enough quarters to
finish the game to simply finding it. With arcades regrettably scarce,
fans would have to fork over the hundreds of dollars that the NeoGeo
versions of the Metal Slug games command. Though SNK's new package of
Metal Slug 5, the two most recent entries in the series, does not
command the same cache of cool that owning a functional NeoGeo home
system or, even better, a stand-up MVS arcade machine does, it makes
these throwback titles much more accessible. At this point, though, it's
likely that only those players who have already acquired a taste for
Metal Slug's rich blend of crazy, manic violence and goofy humor will
fully appreciate this package.
Outside the safety of a slug, you can
jump and duck as in past Metal Slugs, and in Metal Slug 5, you're able
to perform a forward slide, which is good for quickly moving through low
passages. However, it's a maneuver that will get you into trouble more
often than not. The controls are tight and responsive, though the need
to fire your weapons rapidly will likely have you positioning your right
hand over the face buttons, like a bear balancing on a big rubber ball.
As
2D games originally designed for the NeoGeo platform, these aren't
technically impressive games by any means. Even if you focus your
attention entirely on the game's playful and bizarre art style and
designs, it's hard to ignore the extremely pixelated visuals, some of
which can actually be traced all the way back to the first Metal Slug,
which is nearly 10 years old at this point. Metal Slug 4 is a more
blatant perpetrator of this sort of recycling. You can expect to see
many of the same environments, enemies, and slugs found in the previous
Metal Slug offerings to the point that it almost feels like a pale Metal
Slug tribute. As a result, Metal Slug 4 is the less compelling of the
two games in the package.
Metal Slug 5, on the other hand, benefits
from an entirely new set of enemies, some fantastically strange new
slugs for you to pilot, and some inventive new levels. One of the more
striking new levels consists of careening an abandoned elevated highway
in what appears to be a heavily armed Cooper Mini, all while taking out
enemies and trying to clear massive gaps in the road. You can expect to
face massive mechanical enemies at the end of each stage in both Metal
Slugs, but the bosses in Metal Slug 5 are simply bigger and more
original. Few of the boss fights in either game, though, ever reach the
ridiculous heights of the final battle in Metal Slug 2/X, and even at
their best, they seem to fall just a little short of delivering the same
crazy thrills offered by past Metal Slug entries.
